L. Ralph Lonbeck, PE, SE Civil and Structural Engineer

Rodgers Mountain Consultants first came into existence in August 2000 and is based on the experience of its founder/owner, Ralph Lonbeck. Ralph has been practicing engineering for more than 35 years, 11 years in general civil and 24 years in civil and structural, after graduation from Oregon Institute of Technology. He is licensed as a Professional Civil Engineer in Washington and Civil and Structural Engineer in Oregon.

Ralph’s professional experience includes teaching geotechnical engineering, practicing geotechnical engineering, surveying, drafting, field civil/structural engineering and design civil/structural engineering. Experience over the past 24 years has included both public and private sector structural steel and reinforced concrete design for both heavy and light industrial projects, structural engineering studies and civil design of roads, site grading and storm drainage. More recently, Ralph’s experience has broadened to include light framed commercial and residential projects. Where required, design sketches have been produced, using AutoCAD and Micro Station, to form the basis of construction drawings produced by others.

Ralph is familiar with the ACI, AISC, ANSI, ASCE, IBC, NDS, and UBC codes.

Computer skills include structural analysis and design using RISA-3D, STAAD III, GTStrudl, EXCEL and MATHCAD. Ralph is also familiar with AutoCAD and Micro Station.

Professional memberships and associations include the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the American Wood Council (AWC), and the Structural Engineering Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers (SEI).
